The American Way

My country's flag waves proudly

The red, white, and the blue

I stand in awe and am amazed

How I am free, and so are you!

　

Our troops they fought for our freedom

Some are still over there today...

Not all will come home safe and sound

But they know the price they pay

　

I will proudly fly my little flag...

To show my support for my country

I'm thankful for the freedoms I have

Because of it I'm able to just be me!

　

Daily I pray and ask God for guidance

And I remember the troops in my prayers

I'll always ask for their safe return...

And hope that'll get rid of their family's fears

　

I am proud to be an American

And I stand tall in my beliefs today

I will always display my colors

Because that's the American way!
