Rainy Day

Beneath the leaves of a bright yellow flower
A fairy sits and listens to the shower
Of rain falling plip plop all around
On plants and rooftops and on the ground

Washing everything clean and clear
The trees, the houses, and even the air
So everything's fresh and sparkling like new
And covered with drops like morning dew.

Though clouds hide the sun, it's a pleasant day
Relaxing, refreshing, in every way
A time for renewal and quenching the thirst
Of the parched and dry and dusty earth.

As the fairy sits still and soaks it in
The sights and sounds cause her to grin;
She's happy to see within and without
The end of the long and weary drought

For she knows the rain and the sun take their turns,
An important lesson in life she has learned
To flow with the times, for she knows they will change
As rainbows and sunshine follow the rains.

In every moment there's something to gain
Like listening to the music of the falling rain;
Our wise fairy knows that life brings us showers
And she also knows that showers bring flowers.

Fairy Dream

I was down in the meadow pondering my mind,
When I spotted a rose petal falling behind.
I mused that the butterflies were just having fun,
Flitting and flirting under a daffodil sun.

I sat by the stream and drank tea with a dragon.
We had dream berry bread and wine by the flagon.
Up popped a Fairy King on top of a starfish,
"Fly with me, dear maiden. I'll be all that you wish."

I thanked the dear dragon and waved on with a tear.
He promised me happiness with nothing to fear.
I hopped on the starfish and cherished my lover,
Touching his pure heart and the strength of his fervor.

We rode to the meadow and lay in fresh roses.
Passions breathed kisses and the stroking of noses.
Now, musing, the bright butterflies pondered the fun,
As we flitted and flirted in daffodil sun.

Time and again, it was more pleasure than rainbow.
A laugh and a touch and a whisper would follow.
Sated, I trifled; "Lord, are you granting my wish?"
"Or, is this a sweet dream caused by riding a fish?"

"It is all that you wished for." he said with a kiss.
"Your soul so long troubled, it mislaid all of this."
Then, I awoke. The gentle dragon was weeping.
"I'm sorry, my darling, you and I were sleeping."

"Fairy Kings and starfish do not ride in this stream."
"Your lover, your heart's passions, were only a dream."
"But, I have been part of you since time has begun."
"I am real, beloved, in this daffodil sun."

Twinkle, Twinkle, Tinkerbell

Twinkle, twinkle, Tinkerbell,
Dancing in the wooded dell.
The colored flowers are her friends,
'Tis her that makes the willow bend.

And on her toes are rings and things,
That glisten as she plays and sings.
From hay and straw she builds a nest,
So that she may lay her head to rest.

And deep within the leafy ground,
A trail if silver can be found.
'Tis placed there by the snails her friends,
So she may join them where it ends.

She has I'm told a bag of tricks,
Made from leaves and tiny sticks.
When all is quiet, all is still,
She casts out magic for her thrill.

She spreads her wings so she can fly,
To reach the sun up in the sky.
Across the breeze she flits and flashes,
Too fast to see through blinking lashes.

And so she twinkles in the light,
And catches moonbeams in the night,
She is a funny little creature;
Who will vanish if you try to reach her.

And so the little Tinkerbell,
Dances in the fairy dell

Advice for Noah and McKenna

If you can listen to your heart,
When your head is screaming.

If you can see yourself,
Through broken dreams.

If you can speak with a smile,
Through words unspoken.

If you can hold a child,
In arms of love.

If you can walk with grace,
Barefoot through the earth,
And feel the rhythm of natures pulse.

If you can lift the spirits of a shattered life,
When all around you, your life crumbles.

If you can build your future,
On faith and truth,
In a time confused by evil's work.

If you can see through eyes of clarity,
And guard strong the mind from polluted thoughts,
If you can cherish the dew of the mornings glory,
And reach to the stars,
Whilst grounded by gravity.

If you can sigh,
Yet find release in those sighs,
And strive to do what you know is right.

If you can hold your head,
While envy burns you,
And nurse the scolds of others hate,
If you can be yourself,
while life is cloned,
And hold fast the gift of freedom.

If you can fight for what is honorable,
Yet hold the banners for peace and justice.

If you can laugh with others who laugh at you,
If you can make yourself laugh,
Then humor is yours.

If you can feel the pain of all mankind,
Yet hold the visions of a better time,
Then yours is life, And everything in it.

And which is more,
you'll be... my children.

Close Your Eyes

Hold your breath and close your eyes,
Squeeze all the magic from inside.
Step through the circle that time defies,
And journey into wondrous skies.

It's time to dance, it's time to sing,
Enjoy the peace that fairies bring.
See their world through eyes of wonder,
And on their beauty you may ponder.

Go deep within the wooded ground,
'Tis there the secrets can be found.
Enjoy your journey, that begins right here.
Close your eyes, and have no fear.

Today I Think We'll Go For a Walk

Today I think we’ll go for a walk,
And with my children I will sit and talk.
We’ll go hunting bluebells deep in the woods,
We’ll put on our wellies, and pull on our hoods.

Today I think I’ll dance round the trees,
We can chase butterflies and bumble bees,
And if we find snowdrops we’ll stare in wonder,
Laugh if it rains, scream if it thunders.

Today I think I’d like to be four,
Follow the footprints of an animal’s paw.
If we get cold we’ll sit round a fire,
While fire sprites dance for us to admire.

Today I’ll eat penny sweets, crisps and chocolate,
We’ll climb over fences and fill up our pockets,
With feathers and twigs and good luck things,
We’ll use dock leaves for nettle stings.

Trickling waters will call us all in
To play in their wetness, to dance, to sing.
We can hold hands and run really fast,
Chasing the rainbow, how long will it last?

Look out for goblins, giants, and trolls.
We can set up a camp with me on patrol.
And when it is time to leave our play,
And head for our beds to wearily lay.

We’ll say good to all the things,
The rainbow the sprites with their fiery wings,
The nettles the trees the sparkly stream,
And home we’ll return with a head full of dreams.

Today I think we’ll go for a walk.

Fairy on my Nose!

There was a fairy on my nose,
I saw her, I'm sure with tiny toes.
She smiled at me with an impish grin,
Then plucked my hair and began to spin.

She spun a tiny spiders web,
For a mummy spider with a broken leg.
And then the cheeky little thing,
Flew really fast and stole my ring.

She put it in a magpies nest,
Then quite exhausted sat down to rest.
When it had caught its fairy breath,
She flew in my ear, scared me to death.

She buzzed around in there for a while,
Then pulled out a drum with a sneaky smile.
She took six lashes from my eyes,
And made a fiddle with knots and ties.

She gave these things,
The drum and strings,
To a group of nearby bugs.
They danced and they played,
For the rest of the day.
Then they all gave each other big hugs.

I still have the mark on the end of my nose,
Footprints from the fairy's toes,
I think they're speckled,
But some say they're freckled.
There was a fairy on my nose!

McKenna's Fairy Realm

A place where few can go or tell
Follow the stream to the fairy dell.
Wings of silken lace, help them rise,
Upon the breeze of perfumed skies,
And in the place where the wee ones play,
Are made the flowers and the sunbeam's ray.
Captured in the fairy cup,
Each dewdrop is to gently sup.

The creatures they all sing along

To the merry little fairy song.
Dancing round on tippy toe,
They flash their colours just for show.
Their magic is a secret thing,
As they sit around the fairy ring.

The great tall trees are their best friends,

Guard them from where the forest ends.
And on the days when the sun is bright,
They catch the shadows and cast down light.
'Tis then you'll see the magic true,
Placed on the ground for me and you.
And as the branches gently rustle,
Behind the petals the fairies bustle.

With a flash of light they rush away,

from vision of man. They stay,
When all is quiet, all is calm,
They flicker within the sheltered balm,
To gently float once again,
And twinkle in the dripping rain.

Each fairy has, so they say,

A pointed ear on which they lay,
To hear what roots of trees might say.
The roots feel deep, and know it's true,
When we approach, the me and you.
The Fairies realm, is for a few

But you will know when elves invite

Your chance to see the fairy sight
For those who search for fairy ground
With good intention just and sound
Do not disturb this little place
Just look at the magic of their face
Their pointed ears and wings of lace
The fairies live quietly secure
Amongst themselves, in a World that's pure.
They know your mind, it won't deceive

A fairy if you don't believe!

Silence Practiced

Still we practice in silence,
In the quiet moments within our minds,
Afraid to speak of secret knowledge,
Solitude a gift of disguise.
Observe the fate of those before us,
A lesson learned for all who know.
Strength in silence will be passed,
To those born of the gifts.
Until the time of future ages,
When those in silence will be heard...

The Fairy Realm

You must believe with all your heart and soul.
Let no man tell you otherwise,
Or fill your head with darkened lies.

The way to get there is many in choice,
But a good first step is the inner voice.
By air, or water, by earth or fire,
The Fairy Realm is your hearts desire.

There you are free, all you can be,
And everything is real.
You could sit for a while ,
Upon a sundial,
And chase the rays of the light,
You could float on the air,
Without any care,
Or fly with butterfly wings.
Buzz with the bees, and fly through the trees,
Float down with the falling leaves.

You could go on a boat,
Through sparkling waters,
Made out of the shell of a tortoise.
Sit in the ring where the fairies all sing,
Drink, dance, or have a fairy fling.
Diddle on the fiddle, play fairy in the middle,
Sparkle, shine, drink buttercup wine.
'Tis not far, you must believe,
Just follow the voice from within.

They

Transparent, yet solid,
Silent, yet full of song,
They flew with roots deep.
Through time they see,
Through waves of energy they feel.
Invisible, yet blinding with light.
Unknown... yet all around.
No boundaries hold them,
Yet golden threads unit them.
Wisdom fills them, feeds them.
Never ending, flowing, gently.
They glimpse at us,
yet do not disturb,
But stay always... for now...
From were they come,
No one can say.
To were they travel,
No one can say.
But they are here now
To give us strength,
They were with us before,
To give us insight,
And they will be with us again,
To become one.

Try to...

Try to soar
Try to fly
Try to float
And touch the sky!

Let go of grief
Let go of strife
Let go of hate
And just live your life!

Dare to be You

Dare to Dream!
Dare to be a Star!
Never give up!
Just be who you are!

I Love You Gao

A million stars up in the sky
one shines brighter I cant deny

A love so precious a love so true
a love that comes from me to you

The angels sing when you are near
within your arms I have nothing to fear

You always know just what to say
just talking to you makes my day

I love you Gao with all of my heart
together forever and never to part.

Surrending Myself

Surrending myself to your love
Surrending myself to happiness
Surrending myself to mystery
Surrending myself to much bliss

Surrending myself to kindness
Surrending myself to complete joy
Surrending myself to my life
Surrending myself to that boy!

I am Here

If you need a laugh, I am here
If you need a hug, I am here
If you need a shoulder to cry on, I am here
If you need someone to support you, I am here
If you need to feel cared for, I am here
If you need someone to listen, I am here
If you need to hear that someone loves you, I am here
If you need to feel wanted, I am here
If you need to talk, I am here
If you need a friend, I am here

Scattered Thoughts

My thoughts lay printed on sheets of paper,
Stored in the drawer of my mind.
They are organized, neat,
Nothing out of place.

They can’t be touched by outside strangers,
Filled with dangers and cruel intentions.
I’m the only one with the key,
To this infinite drawer with ideas.

But sometimes a foreign gust of wind comes,
It rattles and shakes the knob to this drawer.
Each day getting stronger and stronger,
Closer and closer to freeing those papers.

The enemy, the wind is a master of uncovering.
Of daintily plucking out my papers
Like dandelions on a vast field,
To blow and disperse the seeds to unknown areas.

It does it so discreetly, that I don’t realize its actions
Until that very last moment
When the wind turns into a hurricane
And the drawer is finally broken into.

My papers fly out to this hurricane.
Crinkling, tossing, turning.
A complete mess of black and white figures,
Soaring at high speeds in the whirlwind.

I’m stuck in the eye of the hurricane.
Huffing and puffing, jumping and reaching,
To retrieve my sacred papers.
Although I know it’s impossible.

I must wait for it to move on,
And pick up each paper, piece by piece.
Eventually I’ll find most of my thoughts,
To put back in the drawer, for the wind to come again.

What is True Joy?

I'll be happy once I've done this certain thing.
We all say this often not realizing what it brings.
We look only to the future for our happiness.
Letting life slip through our fingers in its fullness.
Will we really feel complete when the task is done,
or look back and see how we missed so much fun?
Self consumed so we can't see anything else,
hurting those we love as well as ourselves.
So many things around us to be grateful for,
when seeking for an answer willingly open the door.
So often, others see what's in front of our face,
but we're too blind to look as we're snared in the race.
What is this life supposed to be about?
Is it money, fortune, fame, or a big house?
When speaking to a man on his dying bed,
none of these answers are what he said.
Family, love, laughter are what we should seek.
These are the precious things right outside your door.

Never Stop...

Never stop caring about the little things in life
Never stop dreaming or give into strife
Never stop wondering, are we on our own
Never stop thinking has your spirituality grown

Never stop building bridges that leads to better tomorrows
Never stop trying or give into sorrow
Never stop feeling amazed at the beauty that surrounds you
Never stop hearing the music or give into the blues

Never stop pushing away negative thoughts that make you feel sad

Never stop looking at the all the miracles we have had
Never stop loving the ones you hold dear
Never stop giving or give into the fear

Never stop smiling and look forward to each new day

Never stop shining in your own special way
Never forget that all storms will clear
Remember brighter tomorrows are always near

Once I Was a Happy Girl

(a poem about bullying)

Once I was a happy girl
Then came the day I died
I took my life due to pain
Then suddenly people cried

I used to be so outgoing
But a day came that I was not
I was bullied and teased
And some would say I'm hot

But those that said that

Were only pretending
Because they wanted to hurt me
With all their messages they're sending

I cried almost every day

I would sit alone with no friends
That's when I decided
That all of this was going to end

I took a bunch of pills that day

Then I locked more door at night
I didn't think what this would do
When Mom would see this sight

Now I am a dead girl

And my family paid the price
All because I was harassed
By people who weren't so nice

Once I was a happy girl

Now my memory is all that's left
Please put a stop to bullying
So no other lives would suffer this theft!
