In Your Arms

In your arms,
I’m in my safe haven.
With you holding me tight,
I have no other craving.

All I need,
is that one look,
that says you’re always there,
just like in a fairy-tale book.

Your eyes talk to me,
as the world stands still.
My once empty heart,
now with love does fill.

Your eyes tell me,
that you'll love me everyday.
No matter what may come,
you'll be there to stay.

I tell you everything
and never with a lie.
All my worldly secrets,
and everything that once made me cry.

Everything in my past,
with you I can forget it all.
I know I can trust you,
to catch me if I fall.

If only I could explain,
how much love I have for you.
Then maybe, just maybe
you'd feel it too.

Trick-or-Treat

Trick-or-Treat is all you hear,
kid's running around yelling "look what I got!".
Ghost yell "Boo! I scared you!".
Teens scaring little kids by saying "They're gonna get you."

There's a full moon tonight,
The monsters come out and play.
Black cats and bats are all over in the night,
You better not cross through the grave yard today.

Pumpkins glowing thorough the night,
fog covering the glow of the moon.
Teens saying "they are very near."
And all kids get very scared.

Run run as fast as you can,
though the night.
Only seeing by the glow of the moon,
Hearing laughs of the cruel dead ghouls.

Doors shut,
parents say good night.
Now you just have to wait,
for next Halloween Night.

The Worst Nightmare on Halloween

Elegant in burnt orange afterglow,
Sparkling darkness opens the show.
Strangers arriving from all around;
Some even, from the bad side of town.

They come afoot and driven by car;
Toddlers in strollers, they can’t walk far.
Mothers shouting orders to stay in sight,
Transgressors will rightly rue this night.

Flickering lights and untied laces;
Stomping feet going through their paces.
Scampering legs are willing accomplices,
To smiling eyes and hideous faces.

Through the gauntlet of terror they swarm;
Decked to play in pillaging uniform.
Tree and flower tremble and waiver;
Bumped and trampled in their fervor.

Garish masks obscure excited grins.
Shrieks of joy emanate from within.
Ghostly spirits from the bowels of earth,
Hang from limbs, grinning in ghoulish mirth.

Silken chains embracing all who stray,
Beckons the widow to her frightened prey.
Garnished by howling cries of certain demise;
Steaming cauldrons await their fleshy prize.

Engraved heads from the garden of Hades,
Impotent charms to appease candied fantasies,
Festooned arches bedecked in orange and black,
Ornate ornaments to win the neighborhood plaque;

Hostiles charitably looting town;
Sacks of booty slowing them down.
With bulging bags filled with plunder,
The advancing hordes scatter asunder.

Like tocks from a clock they continue to arrive,
Will the morrow find villagers still alive?
Spades of woe befall each who rashly ignore,
Ominous omens glued to shop window and door.

Pass me by, to my neighbor grace his stage;
Assuage with him your gluttonous rage.
Rapacious hands swaying in ritual dance;
Exuberance untethered in blitzing advance.

Eyeing my castle the motley mobs charge in,
Guarded but by growling dog and smiling pumpkin;
Upon my stoop they brazenly climb,
My breath on hold, I hear the chime;

My time I fear is near at hand,
My blood or treasure they demand;
Hunkered down and hidden from sight,
No mercy presented for my plight;

With sweaty palms and pounding heart,
"Please Lord" I pray, "make them depart;"
"Please go away" I silently scream,
"I forgot the candy on Halloween!"

Zombie is You (another Halloween Poem)

The darkness comes from deep inside.
It creeps up from out of your dark side.
Gnawing at your flesh by your graveside.
Of a life that you feel lives you mortified.
Creeping death shivers down your spine.
You feel it wrap around, you feel it reassign.
Your screams and visions will all align.
Under the moon they will combine.
The cares and the worries you place on today.
Are replaced by blinding pain in your temple, you have nothing to say.
Your feel all hope go floating away.
Leaving you alone, as your body starts to decay.
You see your life end, but when did it begin?
You fall to your knees as your thoughts go within.
The deepest part of your soul, under your skin.
You see the vision of the bitter end.
You stay alive as the skin and muscle fall from your bones.
You get lightheaded and collapse on your knee bone's.
You feel like you're in an episode of the twilight zone.
All you can do is let out a little moan.
You finally succumb to your fate.
You finally become the desolate.
Roaming the earth as deaths advocate.
Bringing your victims to hells gate.

Halloween

The corpse that walks,
its solemn line.
The vampire stalks,
finds blood to dine.
The werewolf howls
at the silver moon.
His human form
what's showing at noon.
The mummy's cries
of pain and loss.
His wraps that smell of must and moss.
The witch that flies,
upon her broom
casting curses
and spelling doom.
The black cat scurries,
hisses and claws
through the graveyard walks his paws.

My Five!

Gypsy, Gao, Mouse, Gizmo
and then there’s Wickett our smallest kitty,
One, two, three and four and five,
they’re so frisky, so alive.

Gypsy is my number one,
A couple of years old and so much fun.
Purrs and snuggles on my shoulder,
she's kind of stuck up but a little bit older.
She meows for water from the sink,
I turn it on, for her to drink.

Goa is my number two,
proud and handsome, I tell you!
He prances like a little pony,
and you know what? That’s no baloney.
He guards the others from above,
and sometimes gives a little shove.

Mouse is my number three,
chubby, plump as one can be.
Always cleaning, always licking,
he tries to run but his paws keep sticking.
He keeps on searching for a hand,
to scratch under his collar band.

Gizmo is my number four,
always eating, more and more.
Loves to snack on lots of munchies,
Tender Vittles and some crunchies.
Begging, pleading, day and nights.
"Give me crunchies, or I’ll bite!"

Wickett is my number five,
He jumps, rolls over, takes a dive.
Up my back, onto my shoulder,
he's getting from shy to a little bit bolder.
Then he jumps to catch a fly,
He's six months old, my sweetie pie.

Gypsy, Gao, Mouse, Gizmo,
and there’s Wickett our smallest kitty.
Five, four, three and two and one,
I love my kitty cats, they’re so much fun.

Dad

*RIP Conrad Sean RockCastle -
you will always be loved and missed

Words aren't easy
when feelings run deep,
But still, there's one thing
you should know-
The values you gave me,
the lessons you taught,
Are with me wherever I go,
And loving a dad
who's as special as you
Is something
I'll never outgrow.

Déja Vu

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
Surly you do lie.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
We don’t see eye to eye.

Mirror, Mirror by the stairs,
Your image is surly haunting.
Mirror, Mirror by the stairs,
My self-esteem you’re taunting!

Mirror, Mirror above the sink

Are you showing my insides?
Mirror, Mirror above the sink
Why cant you give me pride?

Mirror, Mirror in my hand,

It really isn’t fair
Mirror, Mirror in my hand
I cant help but stop and stare

Mirror, Mirror on the ground,

Now you’re smashed in thousands.
Mirror, Mirror on the ground
A thousand me's surrounding

I Wish...

I wish I could replace hurt with anger,
But I don't have it in me
I wish I could scream and call you names
But how will that set me free?

I wish I had a heart of stone,
So these tears would just go away!
Why does it have to hurt to lose a friend?
I wish I knew why you're treating me this way?

I wish I had it in me to get angry at you

But I still love you even though you hate me
I don't know what else there is to say
I guess you will never ever really see!

On Fairy Wings, We Fly

Warm days of summer, with foolish dreams
Wisp me to a brook of whispering satin streams
Wrap me in a cloak of honeysuckle's delight
Ride me on a moonbeam, warm my winter's night

We'll play as leprechauns, string raindrops as pearls
Swing from a rainbow, become lollipops in swirls
We'll trellis the sky in streamers made of mink
And run with the thunder without even a blink

We'll sip a daydream, that from the night air falls
Through the narcotic breeze as tranquility calls
See violets that slumber inside speckled blues
As we paint our own world in pearlescent hues

When time needs a rest, and the sky starts to yawn
We'll snuggle on Jupiter or any planet we're on
We'll sprinkle our thoughts along sugar plum aisles
Eat bits of chocolate, as we polish our smiles

Interwoven Lives

Each had crept inside the other ones dreams
As crossroads of time intersected their world
Where a chess game of words wove colorful themes

They unraveled their thoughts one on one
While sitting in the shrine of a quiet afternoon
Watching the hours slide into patches of warm sun

Lives that had been woven by yesterday's hand
To forever dwell in a fabricated time
Of rose petals falling on snow white sand

Echoes tracing copies of one another's face
While carving letters without promises
Presenting effigies in a world without a place

Gypsy Smile

You're no more than a curve inside my glimpse
you won't see me, touch me, nor peer into my eyes
As green as the fury of a cat's vengeance
I've sealed my mind against your gypsy smile

As I lean against the silence of my own wishes,
I can hear your voice leaning against time
It lulls me back to yesterday; the clock spoke
In warnings; tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

Slumbering words of what could have been
No longer awaken me to your presence
Gently my feet are kissed by the foamy waters
As I stand on the edge of tomorrow's shore

Now, you write of winters with chestnut memories
As you sit forsaken in your bed of reality
Cover yourself with your journal of poetry
Because I've thrown away your last goodbye

But oh, you smiled that gypsy smile again for me
And my knees buckled at the sight
I can't hide this feeling I have for you
For you have given me the fairy fight!

Poppa

There is a man I look up to
And want to be like in many ways
I admire the man that he is
And I will love him always

This man you see before me
Is my Poppa, mo athair, my dad
He has such a big loving heart
And his love for me makes me glad

There is a man I look up to

Lenny Callas is his name
He's the one that gives to all
My hero, tatal meu, mon père, the same!

Who am I?

Who am I in a world filled with woe?
What is my purpose? Where will I go?
Draven is mine; his love is true;
He will be with me, whatever I do.

Friends will forsake me when times are tough,
Draven will be with me; that is enough.
His love for me always makes me feel free
He is my Suflet Pereche; he is my Key.

Life’s goals are naught when love is denied;
But the truth is love will always abide;
Help me, to see the love that's in you
Save me, and help me, and keep our love true.

Who am I in a world filled with woe?

What is my purpose? Where will I go?
Draven is mine; his love is sure;
Only this bond we have will ever endure.

I am... The Girl with God

Those sitting around me, all have a life.
They don't know this, but I reflect a light.
The most beautiful light, shining with a rainbow of love.
Darkness disintegrates, solitude sinks, to the deepest of seas.
Instead of tattooing the word, He tattooed the verb: LOVE.
A lonely girl,living in obscurity, in a hole where nobody helped me.
Instead, they continued to push me, down, down, down.
Walking the plank, into the tornado, a whirlwind, the world.
That girl is gone now.
She is God's.
The people sitting here, waiting to arrive, might not know this:
I am... the girl with God.
